“Coach”
Rob strategises on and off the field.
Former LSAS Inc. client, Rob S. Hegedus, recently
joined the Lear Stevens Aviation team as VP and Director, Government
Programs. Rob is a veteran Air Force Officer, a serial entrepreneur,
and managing partner at an early-stage venture capital firm. He is
joining the Lear Stevens team to apply his business acumen towards the two
things he is most passionate about: business growth in the government
marketplace and aviation.
Since he can remember, Rob has had a
burning passion for aviation and vividly recalls convincing his second
grade classmates that he was going to grow up and be a pilot. After
graduating from Notre Dame, Rob was commissioned as an Air Force Officer,
and during his service around the world, he managed to accumulate time in
F-16s, RC-135s, MC-130s, AC-130s, EC-130s, E-3 AWACS and even a few hours
in a B-52. He completed his active duty service as the Chief,
Counter-Terrorism at Joint Forces Intelligence Command in Norfolk, VA,
following the events of September 11, 2001. Part of his
responsibilities included working closely with federal agencies, to
include the FAA, to ensure general aviation privileges remained free of
unwarranted restrictions in the months following September 11th.
In
2003, Rob created a Defense Contracting company providing critical
intelligence support to the Department of Defense and within two years, he
grew it to over $1.7M in revenue. He definitely understands the
unique benefits general aviation provides to business operations.
Following the acquisition of his company, Rob created an early-stage
venture capital firm to help other entrepreneurs penetrate the sometimes
seemingly complicated world of government contracting. His venture
firm has helped start over a dozen businesses and Rob has personally
helped secure over $35M in federal contracts.
As a General Aviation aircraft owner, Rob has successfully utilized
his personal aircraft in business, and along with his experience buying
and selling airplanes, creating businesses, and building successful
government contracting ventures, Rob has the perfect combination of
business contacts and skills necessary to sell (or lease) your personal or
corporate jet aircraft in today’s marketplace.
When not selling airplanes or growing Lear Stevens’ presence in the state
and federal marketplace, Rob is president of the Deep Creek Ruritan Club,
a soccer coach in the Chesapeake city league, an amateur historian and
pianist (he only plays Beethoven sonatas) and an aspiring aerobatics
pilot. His dream is to one day compete nationally. Please call Rob
