In May 2006, aviation sales and business
veteran, Judith Rose Lear,
formerly of Falcon Aviation Services, and
Thomas N. Stevens, CFI, MEI, A&P, IA, formed a
full service, aircraft sales and maintenance partnership with corporate
facilities conveniently located in the Main Terminal Building of Hampton
Roads Executive Airport (KPVG). Together, Tom and Judy have over 60 years
of aviation, business ownership, and marketing experience. Lear Stevens Aviation Services, Inc., provides the aviation community fixed wing, private and corporate, national and international aircraft advertising and sales, assistance in financing and insurance, flight training, aircraft management, annuals and pre-buy inspections, aircraft delivery and international import/export services. ![]() Judy's
father, a Journalism Major and Industrial Engineer, from West Virginia
State University was a
Kappa Sigma (ΚΣ) Gamma-Phi chapter brother with comedian
Don Knotts. While serving as a Chemical Weapons Officer during WW II in a P38, USAAF squadron in the Aleutian Islands, Judy's dad was based with Published Author, Louis L'Amour. It was during his active duty service with Western Author Louis L'Amour that he decided he would add a degree in Journalism. Tom's father, also a WW II Veteran, flew and maintained a variety of aircraft during his career USN military service. A. M. "Steve" Stevens, former owner operator of South Norfolk Airport Services, went on to build a family of five boys, all professional or private pilots. Mr. Stevens fostered a career in aviation that few pilots enjoy. He was recently honored by a nomination, and induction into the Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame. Serving as VP of LSAS INC., Tom Steven's career spans many years of aviation. His experience (CFI, MEI, AP and IA) includes 13 years with US Air, and President and CEO in a previous partnership with Aerodyne Corporation, an FAA Certified Maintenance Facility, also based out of Hampton Roads Executive Airport. Tom is qualified to fly a variety of aircraft, and has over 15,000 hours of time in the air including add-on endorsements in Tail Wheel Instruction, Sea Plane Instruction, aerobatics and air show flying. In addition to teaching, Tom's extensive aircraft maintenance knowledge has expanded the LSAS client base to the point of bursting at the seams. The Lear Stevens Aviation Services team is proud to announce yet another expansion; the opening of an additional maintenance facility at Hampton Roads Executive Airport (PVG)! - Click here for more information. Serving as President of LSAS INC., a WWII military aircraft historian and published author, Judy's aviation experience includes aviation marketing including marketing director/copy editor, aircraft sales and acquisitions, aircraft appraisals, 25 years in Human Resources and business management and contract negotiations. Her aviation related hobbies include extensive research on the "Wooden Wonder," the de Havilland Mosquito that served in all four RAF Commands from 1942 - 1965. This unique and versatile aircraft was utilized in RAF Fighter, Bomber, Reconnaissance and Path Finder Commands throughout WW11, and could carry a bomb load that rivaled many US and UK bombers of the day. A sample of Judy's aviation related, published articles can be found in the Auto Pilot Magazine. Under Judy's leadership, the LSAS Sales Team has expanded nationwide, and has recently opened its International Division in Celeya, Mexico. Your LSAS INC team now equally serves Domestic and International customers, as well as, providing experienced inspection and disassembly of aircraft, guidance and/or the facilitation of the associated export paperwork, and crating and shipping of the aircraft to its International destination. Judy and Tom's dream is to build a scaled down, airworthy replica of the "Mossie" Bomber. |
